IES Profile
The International Education Society (IES, London) was established in 1997 and in a relatively short period of time it has become the largest institution specializing in the certification of educational institutions of various type.
All IES activities are guided by the endeavour to develop domestic and international cooperation between educational institutions and entities from the economic and business sphere.
IES was founded as a follow-up organization of the European Union´s YOUTH programme. This programme was established under the guidance and with the financial help of PHARE in 1993 - 1996 as a collective project of Great Britain, Poland, Ireland and the Czech Republic. The YOUTH programme was coordinated by OUVERTURE headquarters in Glasgow and methodical help was provided by the ECOS-OUVERTURE office in Budapest. As a part of the YOUTH programme, problems in connection with the success of graduates from various types of educational institutions in the job market were monitored. The outcome of this research suggested, amongst other things, that one of the main drawbacks was the absence of an international document - certificate - enabling the bearer to achieve better results in job searching in the international and domestic job markets, providing employers with relevant information, which is usually not included in a school report or another certificate. On the basis of this information, the Certificate Project was established.
The main activity of IES is the implementation of the Certificate Project. Within this project educational institutions and their educational programmes are evaluated and certified. The secondary IES activity is the establishment and operation of professional internet databases (www.skoly.cz).
The registered office of the International Education Society, Ltd. is in London, Great Britain, where it is registered under No. 5209753. The clients´centre and the management of IES reside in the Czech Republic (Brno). This organization unit is registered at the Regional Commercial Court in Brno, Reg. No.: Division A, file No. 17230.
